Hello folks,

Even that I didnt change anything in my multi (from J & J) setup, today I get this message when starting any version of Outrun 2 with original Lindberg hadware. I checked the I/O board and its running fine. I also checked the cables ect but the error is still there.

Anybody has an idea of what to check in addition ?

Bye,

Lanny

Solution guys: for some reason, in the game assignment settings, he changed my cabinet from Standard to Deluxe and hence was not able to find the controller board. Changing the setting resolved the issue. Seems that the deluxe version is communicating differently with the controller board...or there need to be 2 ones ?

The deluxe versions of the game were 2 player (ie. had two steering wheels or handles as Sega calls them). This is connected via the same single COM port, but uses 7 bytes per message instead of the 4 in a single handle cabinet. Switching between Standard/Deluxe changes the protocol it uses.
