Hi all,
I have two working Outrun board sets and would like to convert one to Turbo Outrun.
So far I have followed the upgraded guide and have burned the necessary Roms.
The problem I have is the guide says 1M eproms for the Video board, but the sockets only accept 28pin eproms.

I can't seem to find any 28pin 1M eproms??
Can you split the Rom images between pairs of 512k ?

Thanks to anyone who can shed any light on this conversation.

Cheers Justin

Hey,
You have 3 options:
- use a trillion 27C256s (32), you'd need to change the jumpers/resistors next to the PAL controlling /CE signals for those ROMs
- replace the aforementioned PAL by a handcrafted version allowing you to use "only" half a trillion 27C512 chips (16)
- use 1Mbit chips (8 ) mounted on DIP28 adapters

or you can replace the 32 sockets with 4 32pin sockets and a lot of hack-wires.
i did it once to create a multi using 27c040's - not sure if i took pictures though.
