I've seen some that do, I think Taito dropped the cover to save money, but maybe they changed the whole PSU out? Here is what I'm looking for, I just assumed they stopped including the metal cover (or people removed and then tossed them).

They are different PSUs. The one with metal cover has not the same internals and components than the one @Akraten is currently selling. Both valid and original, but different. And different ref. numbers, too.

No problem, if I hadn't paid like a lot more for mine I would have bought yours! This is a steal for someone restoring an E2!
