SOLD Egrett II Restored

Disagree about the original PSU. I recapped all of mine, but decided to use a modern switcher in all of my Taito cabs. I only kept them to keep my cabs complete, but with everyday use, I think a modern PSU is more reliable.
I didn’t say it should run on the original PSU, only that it should include it.

Extra premium price for cut wiring and a cheap Happ psu doesn't add up to me.

@fuzzbuddy I totally agree with you from an operational point of view. I have a modern psu in my E2 with the original boxed away. But from a purchasing point of view and for the premium price tag listed, I think it should be sold with stock everything and then the buyer should replace as desired. For $7500 I think the market might want a fully restored original component E2, then let whatever modern functionality customization happen with the buyer.

@West @XtraSmiley - I'm pretty sure now that I've misunderstood everyone's point and concern

I was just pointing out my personal experience with my Egrets and Canary when it came to OG PSU/Restoration.

I totally get your point though (that's why I kept the original PSU). Not that I had any plans of selling my cabs..but you never know.

But I'm happy to see that all you fine folks are using newer PSUs too

Agree with you, fuzzbuddy. Honestly, "original PSU" is probably not a positive in a lot of cases, think Vewlix and E3/AWSD, for example. I would also much rather have a modern switching power supply like a Mean Well in my cabs. The only exception is probably Astros where I'd much rather have a NVS-4000 or something similar.

But that's just me. GLWS!
Hey now, the original jvs psu in the vewlix performs pretty well. It works just fine for the intended market voltage. I have managed to fix a few of these to work without issues with US voltages. No step-down is needed. I'll make a post about that soon.

Price adjust bump from the shitstorm of pm's over it......Ok ...Ok

For what its worth, I am one of those that when asked by him specifically, told Alien to start high, and i said 8k...... and take time to see what the market would bear, as E2's this nice are fucking stupid rare, in the states.

His choice in pricing is his right, and as long as its only high, and not completely egregious (over 10K), then it's his choice, not anyone else's.

Honestly there has been FAR too much discussion about pricing/psu status/psu options/etc in this, SOMEONE'S SALE THREAD.

Unless seller is asking specifically for info or opinion, those concerns should be private....and even then, blowing up someone's inbox is not fucking ok.

@bagheera369 , you are right, probably not the best place for discussing these things. I was trying to defend the seller's decision to use a modern switcher.

Being pressured into reducing the price is another thing though...offers can be made privately and politely.

@AlienSyndrome , best of luck with the sale, it's a fine example of an Egret II.
