Error: Dimm Board Timeout updating firmware 2.17 via netboot

Hey all,
I'm trying to update my naomi netdimm that's on 2.17 through transfergame.exe
but when I go to set the IP address through the test menu, i enter the IP and go to save it and I always get the error
Dimm board timeout

any clues?
I've tried reseating the board quite a few times and swapping to my other netdimm works just fine.

so I swapped the ram over to the other slot and got the dimm to boot as intended.
I'm running this over my PC with Transfergame.exe
Ultimately I'd like to upgrade the firmware to 4.01/2
I can ping the dimm just fine.

but when I push the update file over, the text is all garbled in command prompt (attachment)
If I just let it rock I get error 31, game is not acceptable by mainboard
any clues what could be causing this?
out of curiosity, I pushed marvel 2 and it worked just fine.

Hi,
the text is not garbled.
The program is in Japanese.
As you don't have japanese fonts, that causes the garbled text.

So what should I look at for the issue then?
Is it possible my fw file wasn't decrypted or isn't compatible with the 0 key?

The issue must have been with my file, I downloaded another one and it worked right away.
Netbooted the updater just fine and now its on 3.17 netbooting off a pi

Now that you've updated to 3.17, move on to the 4.01 update.
I'm not sure the reasons why... But its been stated before that IF you are below 3.x first run a 3 update. *shrug*
