I wanted a way to make using my monitor test devices easier to use in my arcade as we have several different types of chassis, and making adapters for my TPG was getting tedious. I also wanted an easy way to have test patterns available to dial in cabs at shows. I decided to take a Jamma fingerboard and a generic CGA/VGA adapter and mash them together.
I basically just tapped the video signals from the CGA / VGA adapter, and fed it to the corresponding Jamma pins on my fingerboard.
The CGA/VGA adapter is nice because this one uses a standard "WG" type of connector and the VGA port also allows the use of my Extron tool as well.
I will be cleaning this up and over the weekend, and have plans to spin up a generic PCB that I can add a VGA and WG style pins to to make this an all in one board.
Will post updates on this as they come.
