They work for all locks, but they are originally used for all lock except the coin box.

Officially VLX has 4x 1153 tubular locks and 1 First unique dimple key (yes each lock and key set are different) lock on the coin box.
This is to prevent anyone but the owner from removing the money, often times the coins are counted and checked against the last recorded internal counter value (ie bookkeeping).
