F-ZERO AX uses the same FFB system as OR2 and the Initial D 1-3 games, as well as a couple of others.

I have a question about the expected behavior from FFB on F-ZERO AX.

I've got FZ booting in my OR2 cab, and FFB works, but I noticed that all that's really happening is the wheel is self-centering. It doesn't seem to jerk the wheel around when hitting a wall or anything. Is self-centering all it's supposed to do?

Curious, what is the turning radius on the Outrun 2? With F-Zero the wheel turns about 65 degrees in both directions.
Are you suggesting FZ should be giving more force feedback effects?

OR2's turn either way off center is a good 135 degrees either direction (270 degree turn radius) so it sounds like I've got a greater capacity in the stock OR2 configuration than FZ.

I've got a custom JVS I/O board that I can apply scaling to my analog ranges, though, and scaling up or down doesn't seem to give me any different behavior. I guess I can keep scaling down and see if does anything.

afaik, no. after moving the seat motor left and right couple times, it moves the steering wheel left and right then game start. There's a unique situation where the seat motor won't calibrate is when leaving test menu, so the seat only calibrate when first time power on.
