Yes , before the game start it does some calibration, the “tilt up” goes immediately to 127
And “tilt down “ doesn’t work at all
All the numbers should be above 20 so the game would start
Gas
Brake
Tilt up
Tilt down
Right
Left
And I can adjust them by moving and pressing any of them except the tilt down

So either the pointmeter isn’t working or there is some electric shock that makes the point meter for all the way up “127”

Buy any chance , do you have any site that sells 5k point meter ?

Sounds to my like there's either a break in the wiring or the pot is faulty. For the latter, check with a multimeter. Set it to resistance and put one meter lead on the end pin and the other on the wiper. Then see what values you're reading when you turn the actuator.

Because the pot is wired as a voltage divider, it doesn't matter if the pot is 1k, 5k or 10k. Many times when they're replaced, people just put in whatever they have on hand. 5k is stock.

I meant the F-Zero wheel tilts up and down. Not sure how you're going to pull that off with the other wheel.

You can handle the pitch by using an analog joystick (like a replacement one from a PS1 controller) and mount it to the steering wheel.
Using your left thumb, you can control the pitch.
I've wired this up on my own setup to use F-Zero AX
