That's the first thing that I'd try. On the top of that, make sure that the multicart gently but completely sits on the motherboard. It could also be a bad multi, but they are all extensively tested after assembly.
And .. it is solved !
Not sure exactly what the problem was, but everything is OK now after reseating the multi
I had forgotten how much noise the fan was making on the motherboard base lol
