What It Is
This is a kit that attaches to the coin input on a candy cab, and uses a fake coin to become a credit input switch. It can be connected to the existing coin mech wiring, or to a service button, or wherever you'd like. The fake coin can be replaced with a real coin (or token or tiddly wink or whatever). It requires only two screws (included) to install to most cabs.

Kit Contents

• The mounting bracket and retainer
• A fake coin (with or without '100' like a Japanese coin) (2 coins for Sega versions because of panel thickness variation)
• Mounting screws (2 lengths with Sega kit)
• New Omron switch
• Installation instructions

- The instructions will also show how to use a real 100 yen coin (or similar) if that's the preference.
- The fake coin is not removable from outside the cab, but can be modified if that's the preference

The Price (USD)

The switch is a short-lever switch off of a Seimitsu stick, if you have some lying around. The ones included with this kit are brand new Omron switches.

Compatibility
There are two mounting styles, which refer to the internal wiring connection. The default end mount is very compact, and fits Namco, Sega and the tight SNK cabs. but if your cab hasn't got room at the narrow ends of the slot, consider the side mount kit.

• Sega Cabs (12 x 38mm hole spacing):
  • Sega Astro / New Astro City
  • Sega Naomi Universal / New Net City
  • And probably others
• SNK (39 x 12mm hole spacing):
  • Super Neo 29 Candy
  • And probably others
• Vewlix / Chewlix (42mm hole spacing)

Size:

Numbers indicate required space. Depth under the panel is less than 3cm (about an inch)

Requirements

• 3cm (1 inch) of free space beside the coin slot under the panel, to allow for the connectors. On the Sega and Namco cabs this is easy. On the SNK it's a tight fit.
• Remove any funnels or chutes under the panel, as this kit will occupy the same space. On the SNK, Namco and Sega cabs this is usually two screws, and it's easily reinstalled.
• Connect the kit to your cab. The switch has standard .187 blade connectors, same as most coin mechs and fast-on joysticks.
• An existing coin slot. Sega/SNK/Namco kits do NOT include the external bevelled coin slot shown in these photos
  • Vewlix/Chewlix users can purchase a 3D printed slot in any of the available colours

A wiring kit (50cm wire, plug one end, receptacle the other) is being considered. If this would make your life easier, please ask about it.

Coin Colours

• Sega Sky Blue
• Namco Cyber Purple
• SNK Adjective Red
• Inauthentic Gold
• Egret Pink
• Egret Green
• Cool Orange
• Nice Yellow
• White
• Black

Some of these colours match their cabs very well (the purple is astonishingly close to the original Cyber Lead purple) but since I don't have an Egret to compare, it might be more wishful thinking than accurate match. The colour of the mechanism under the base may match the coin, or it may not. Since it's unseen I don't think it matters, but if you have a preference please specify when ordering.

3. Message me these details, along with what kind of cabinet you've got.

@Jughead - I don't have a Vewlix but if you can get me some measurements and photos of the way the coin slot mounts, I can make one.
@Jughead - I'm not printing the slot, you'll keep your existing external slot.
@-Ace- - I can get some silver filament for a totally inauthentic Real Quarter feel, no problem
@twistedsymphony - I'm using a microswitch with two 187 terminals, same as the connections used in most coin mechs

The mechanism hangs beneath the coin slot, using two screws (three for SNK cabs) from below, directly into the coin slot above the panel. The existing coin chute beneath the panel needs to be removed, which is just two screws for most cabs.

All good. I can measure the two holes for the coin slot on my vewlix. I bought an aftermarket slot (white plastic) some time back and still have it although I'd enjoy a real silver plated one. I'm guessing I would need to remove the coin chute that is in the control panel to make room for your device. I don't mind as long as I have something that looks neat and serves some sort of purpose.

I would like to see how the standard coin slot mounts, where the bolts are attached, and get a measurement of the two holes.

Updated first post with some sizing information, clarified that this kit does NOT include the external coin slot. It's expected that one already exists, and this kit connects to that.

Waiting for Vewlix measurements to make a version for that cabinet. Also a Jaleco Pony 28 version is planned.

I’m not sure of the depth of the panel. I’d say 2mm. The hole space for the coin slot is 1-5/8”. Sorry I didn’t have a metric ruler around. I will tell you this is an aftermarket coin acceptor and the depth of screw holes is shallow. Maybe 3mm.

Thank you! So that's 41.3mm between the holes.

How does it attach? You've got two holes in the white coin slot that don't appear to be threaded. The photos I've seen show a bolt with nuts holding it on from beneath the plate, but I have no idea how they connect to the white part. Can you help me understand that?
