FS Faux Coin Credit Switch

For Sale
Does this exploded diagram help? If it’s too much to bother with just let me know.

Sorry for the confusion and hassle. I'm trying to determine how the plastic coin receptacle, the part the player sees above the control panel, is attached to the panel. The picture you posted of your coin slot, the white plastic part, has no threads that I can see, so I don't know how it's fixed to the panel.

So far the only details I have from a chewlix user are of a replacement Sega coin slot that he drilled new holes to install.

As I don't know how the original coin slot is different than this aftermarket one, , your guess is as good as mine. I did pull this off the ebay product page where I bought it (translated from french):

The coin slot screws onto the control panel with fine plastic screws not provided.

This looks great. Not sure if it's been mentioned specifically anywhere but I'm assuming this will work without issue for Sega (New) Versus City? In these cabs, the coin slot part of the control panel assembly and is mounted in a sort of perpendicular angle when compared with other Sega candy cabs. If there is no problem with this I'll take 4 total.

This is going to require (I'm guessing) plastic-compatible screws of a specific size. The Sega/Namco/SNK cabs have coin slots with metal M3 threads, so I know exactly what I need to include in the kit to make it fit. I'm going to either need a local unit to tinker with, or someone with more knowledge about the specifics, so I can create this kit. =/

The angle is similar to the Cyber Lead, so that's not a problem. You'll need to remove whatever metal chute is behind that slot (I don't have the details of that) to clear about 3cm of space behind the slot, and then yeah you're good to go. =)

@Jughead - I've whipped up a new coin slot from scratch. If the hole spacing is correct then this should solve the problem. =)

How does it attach? You've got two holes in the white coin slot that don't appear to be threaded. The photos I've seen show a bolt with nuts holding it on from beneath the plate, but I have no idea how they connect to the white part. Can you help me understand that?

Well thanks! Let me know if you'd like me to do anything else. I could also put the inserts in like the thread above.

OK, so now I just need an accurate measurement. That photo suggests the distance between holes is 44.8mm (I suspect it'd round up or down to 44 or 45), where the imperial->metric measurement I have so far is 41.3. That's the last thing I need to finish the VLX option. =)

I'll measure with a metric ruler this evening. You want the control panel hole distance, not the coin slot, right?

Okay. Just tell me what to do. Let me know if you think the vewlix is set. The other cab is diy and made of wood. I might as well order two so if you want to send two of the vewlix versions I’m sure I can adapt it to whatever is necessary.

@nem: awesome, thank you!
@Jughead: The final version will be ready today, and since all the parts will be arriving within the hour, today's the last day for the pre-order price.

So I'll start shipping out the kits tomorrow. =)

Add $5 if you want my external coin slot, or you can slam the heat press inserts in your own, of course.
