I paid for a repro namco noir 2p panel from Alberto1225 on April 8th using the paypal gift option thinking he was trusted enough judging by people who bought from him (my mistake doing gift pay.). HE said it would be sent out the next week. Sent a follow up message on April 14th asking if he has sent it out yet. The same day he responds saying he will pack it and sent it out tomorrow with updates on tracking information. Now i know stuff happens and we all busy so i give him a bit to see if he contact me with updates. I finally message him again on April 22nd over a week later asking him if there are any updates on my order as its been 2 weeks since i originally paid him. Nothing, no answer. His profile says that he read my last message that friday and has been online liking post afterwards. I sent a follow up message today asking for updates with no response or read receipt from him. His profile shows that he has been online today.

If your reading this can you please respond with updates or just refund me my money. I don't like to take things public and I understand that life gets in the way sometimes but I shouldnt have to hunt you down for a service i paid for.

Edit: everyone is under the impression that I was ordering a custom made to order item. I should clarify that this panel was supposedly ALREADY MADE and just needed to be packed and shipped.
He has since contacted me explaining the situation with updated tracking numbers for my order. I still hold to my concerns that open communication goes a long way. And will remove this post after a day so people can see the update as I didn't want to make a public thing about it in the first place .

So under normal circumstances I would be alarmed, but you mentioned alberto. Anyone whos anyone around these parts knows alberto and knows he eventually comes through with some of the best work you have ever seen. He just takes awhile. Sometimes a looong while. You might think weeks are a long while to wait for a panel but I have waited sometimes up to 6 months or more for panels from alberto.

With that said it can be a little annoying to ping him every now and then to make sure he still remembers you and your order. He apparently gets a lot of orders and makes them to order. I don't think he keeps a huge inventory on hand and at least any time I have dealt with him he has had to send them off to be made. This makes sense because he does get a lot of custom orders like folks who ask for an extra button or some such. Did you ask him if he had this panel you wanted on hand? English is not his first language but he is more or less capable at it. You can expect to be put in queue for a couple months at the least if he doesn't have the panel your looking for on hand.

I have ordered two or three times before from alberto and he has even gone out of his way to make an order right at cost to him because he believes in his product. I currently have an order with him now and it's been a few months.

DEC Dec 19, 2021 The discussion began about a new panel from him.
FEB 14th 2022 He finalized the design and asked what I wanted.
FEB 15th 2022 He officially took my order.

We are going into MAY and I am still waiting patiently. I have come to expect this from him. Yes I do wish it was faster but I don't know his situation or how many orders he receives but I do know it will be worth the wait when it's done. :)

My only complaint and one I see from others is his shipping is really hit or miss. More times miss than hit. I have had panels go lost in the mail from him. I have a buddy whos panel was bent due to poor packaging.

I would suggest you nudge him every now and then for updates. Seems you already did that. Last time I nudged him he responded promptly. Your mileage may differ?

Yeah, sucks when you can’t get a response. He did mention recently that he us trying to balance work/life so will not be replying to PMs on weekends but will respond on Monday.

Worry not, he will get you your panel or refund you if that is what you wish.

I've been buying from Alberto for years. Sometimes things get busy and he can be a little slow. It's not the end of the world. He's always delivered, and his panels are better than any other repros I've tried, and I have several others.

I get it, you're a little worried you wasted your money, but chill, this is how this hobby goes. You're not ordering from Amazon or Walmart, it takes a little patience.

Once I bought a set of 1L6B NNC panels from @alberto1225. When they came, the print was purplish instead of silver on black. I figure I got what I paid for and decided to live with it. A year later, I was in the market for panels for a newly acquired NAC. I bought a 1L6B NAC panel from him and mentioned that the NNC panel I bought from him a year ago was not satisfactory. He said he would work on improving the quality. He worked on the ink to ensure they were dark and sent the new CPO's for the NNC's free of charge. From the time that I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the time I got the new CPO's was about a year. But he came through. He cautioned me that applying the new CPO's would require some skill. That isn't a problem for a guy like me. I got them applied no sweat. Though the coloring was correct on the new CPO's, there were accents around the joystick and buttons that weren't inline with the OEM CPO's. I asked if he could remove them. He reworked his CPO's and indeed removed the accents. He sent me new CPO's. The whole was greater than 2 years from the time we all participated in a group buy some 4 years back. He didn't have to do any of that. But he did.

If you can be a little more patient (this is a hobby), you'll get what you paid for from alberto. You are not going to get a finer supplier in this hobby.

Ok, Alberto always delivers, like ALWAYS, and honestly that's not really a long wait time for custom panels, its barely been over 2 weeks. I have shipped priority mail express that has taken over 6 weeks to get delivered. Also, everything he makes is custom and to order. Meaning it might be put into a queue of some type or he might have it in hand if someone else canceled or he produces a few extras. Im sure he gets tons of orders and requests daily. BE PATIENT, it is worth the wait. Also, I have never heard anyone say he has taken $$$ and not delivered the goods. But, if you are really that concerned about the $$$, if you want, I will personally give a refund and take over your order. Because unless something has happened to him to be unable to fulfill orders, or refund, etc...he will ship your panel.

This right here. ☝️

That is not a lot of time to be waiting for custom panels built to order.

I would revise this negative feedback and wait longer. Alberto is awesome and he’s always came through with the goods.

Ordered multiple times from Alberto (5 panels now). I'd typically set aside 2-3 months in my head before checking in. Not to go all hipster on you BUT these are made to order artisan panels that I think are much nicer than the originals (at least 20 year old ones). Certainly not trying to invalidate any concerns you have, but a lot of the arcade spares are like this - small batch stuff someone puts together in-between their life happening. I'd say delays are par for the course.

Everyones mentioning to be patient, they are made to order etc. Which would be a different case. But I should clarify that the panels were supposedly already made and just needed to be packed and shipped. If I was ordering custom panels that had to be built i wouldn't be typing this. Having quality work is fine and all but I still hold to the fact that the poor communication is concerning for new buyers who don't have history with him. He has since this post contacted me explaining the situation with updated shipping info. .

Everything is custom. Everything takes time. You're getting a niche product from the other side of the world, with fantastic quality, at an incredibly reasonable price. It take a little bit. If you don't have any patience you're in the wrong hobby.

Maybe spend some of that time interacting with the community instead of making your only posts complaints about someone we've all be buying from for years. Any of us could have told you it can take a little bit if you'd just asked.

But if I didn't whose to say I would've even got a response anytime soon.

Did he say the panel was already made and just needed to be shipped, or that it would be done and shipped by next week?

I just recently ordered a panel that is not custom per se, but he doesn’t have it on hand so would take a few weeks at least. Because of delays it is not here yet and I have to ping him for updated status.

This is expected because anything fabricated and shipped is delayed these days. I was also aware he posted publicly on this forum that he would not be responding on the weekends. Even without this post I am under the impression he would have replied to you today.

You could have posted a question describing your situation here, or FB, and all of us would have told you the exact same thing.

Feel free to leave this post and not delete it so that new people looking for information on repro panels from alberto may find this post, but I would change it to neutral feedback at the worst and update it with your experience as a whole from buying to using the product.

Its cool that you are a big fan and all. But this is simply a case of communication. I dont know or care how long you have been buying from someone. But given the situation with the information I was given from the seller. I know I was being more than reasonable with the time frame. Im paying for a product I shouldn't have to seek out and search for answers from people not involved when I'm in direct communication with the seller.
If you purchased an item from anyone else and was told it was on hand and will be shipped the next day with tracking info. And you waited past a week before messaging. Seing the message read and still not responded to for days I seriously doubt you would be spouting all this. This isn't a witch hunt, i never once discrediting the quality of his work and i have had custom jobs done before. This isn't any of that so your points are invalid. From my perspective its literally just someone having a item ready to be shipped but not doing it for over week when promised next day shipping and not answering "read" concerns/questions. Thats the issue. But he has contacted me since this post so its fine.

All my repros are made by @alberto1225. Besides the quality of his work, he is a genuinely trustworthy person. One thing you have to remember is he has a full-time job and has a family also. He's doing this more for the community, not much for a living.

If he literally said it was on hand and ready to be shipped out then I agree your concern for delay is valid.

Even then, this is a small niche hobby where there are not many choices for reproduction hardware in general.

It is also standard practice that if you get ghosted or feel uneasy about any transaction to ask the community to see what’s going on.

This is not just fanboys defending alberto, people here are genuinely trying to help you even though your first impression on the forum is so far not great.

Having a purchase not go as expected is sure to make you angry, but you shouldn’t burn too many bridges so early. Unless you don’t care too much about what we have to say anyways then carry on.
