Final Vendetta: AES & MVS Version available for Pre-Order

Making a game with like 3 people takes a long time. These developers always overpromise, so you have to be ready to wait.

I've been secretly thankful for the wait on this one. It's the last unofficial Neo Geo game I plan to do a video on, and I haven't got time for it now, so every delay has been welcome on my side.

Fair comment, but, communication is key if you want to do that. When you're going to accept money from people placing pre-orders (the super limited edition is over $1000 AUD) and the last official update is they're hoping to release it in august 2025, it's a bit rough. It stinks of them using funds from people pre-ordering the neogeo cart to fund other projects. In australia that is illegal, but these guys are not operating in australia and i don't know the laws where they are (seems to be the UK?).

They’re pushing and pumping money into the terminator game.
This game took the back burner, this won’t be finished until terminator is launched and profitable.
I’d say late 2026

I hate to ask this and sound ignorant, because I am! But, how freaking hard is it to release a damn game?

In the case of Final Vendetta, probably quite hard..! Preview videos of the NeoGeo version hint at them needing to invest a lot in making the game run smoothly, which requires a lot of skill and effort and which Bitmap Bureau isn't willing to compromise on. The company has also underwent huge changes over the past few years and quickly grew from a small indie shop to a properly funded game outfit working simultaneously on multiple titles.

The release schedule is inexcusable, but sometimes sh*t like this just happens.

From what I read in the last blog post it was almost ready to release.

I don't mind it being delayed if they're just open about why. If there's a problem somewhere, let us know. At the moment it's been radio silence August last year yet they've released T2, announced He-Man, etc.

Modern online/media culture isn't exactly encouraging anyone to be open about their problems.

As opposed to being completely silent? Really?
Maybe?

Hypothetically if eg. their business/PR management decided it's healthier for the continued success of the company to remain silent rather than post "dumpster still on fire", they might have a point.

A decade ago I would've still strongly argued against silence as potentially beneficial business strategy, but enough has changed in online and media culture since then that I'm not so sure anymore. Can't remember a time when honesty was less valued than today.

what is the over/under on the new AES+ consoles shipping before this cart.... :cursing:

It's getting to the point i should probably ask for a refund because i could probably get one of those. Hell if i was able to charge interest on the money i put down i could pickup that ultimate edition pack that gives the AES+ with 10 games.

It still bothers me that the last update they gave is august 15, 2025 - https://www.bitmapbureau.com/post/an-update-on-final-vendetta-for-neo-geo.. then terminator game + marketing and silence on neogeo. I feel like i paid for that. It's like they're the tax man or something something
