I just got my Triforce Type 3 working today. I can netboot either Mario Kart and get into the test menu to change settings, but whenever the game actually boots it freezes at the Device Check right at the beginning.

I updated the firmware to the latest Darksoft release in case it helped, but it didn't.

I've had a similar issue happen on WMMT on Chihiro when 5v is not cranked up enough, but I've been playing around with the 5v up and down and keep getting freezing here for both games. I haven't tried netbooting anything else at this point, so no clue if it's an overall issue or what.

Any advice?

Thanks!

I did disable them.

All that shows on Device Check is "Button: OK" and a small spinning icon in the lower right that disappears when the game freezes.

@freddiefiasco, do you netboot yours?

I've scoured Google and haven't come across other examples of this specific issue. I see a lot of PIC related errors, which I'm not getting. I see people mentioning successfully netbooting them.

For the record, I'm using Transfergame.exe. I haven't tried with Triforcetools.py.

My current setup is using netboot with Transfergame.exe.

I have had that issue in the past with GP1 but it does not happen when playing GP2.

In addition to disabling the Card R/W, Camera and FFB, make sure to change the PCB ID for the cab so it isn't looking for other players.

Stupid question:
Does the Memory test pass?

I'm on Boot version 3.11 from the latest Darksoft release.

No dice... :(

Yeah, the memory test passes.

I've also tried changing regions and have the same issue on all regions.

I got past the device check and got the Mario Karts booting!

There are some jumpers on the network board and I changed one to match my jumpers on the Chihiro (same network board).

I had noticed the Triforce wasn't resetting when a game was first being pushed to it like my NAOMI and Chihiro do, and I hadn't entered the option to skip the rebooting.

On the network board, the jumper I changed is JP1. I had it on 2-3 and changed it to 1-2.

All jumpers are now:
JP1: 1-2
JP2: 1-2
JP3: 2-3
JP4: 2-3

The Triforce now resets as soon as I start sending a game and MKGP1 and 2 both boot and play.

For the record: I've got my 5v set pretty low at about right at 5.00v and both still boot at this level, so it doesn't appear to be picky about voltage levels like some Chihiro games are.
