Hi all! I'm finally finishing my long battle getting my Mario Kart GP'2 up and running. These will be going out on location. Does anyone know if the force feedback is more reliable for the GP'2 compared to the orginal GP'1? I know the force feedback was a non-stop issue for the GP'1's for route operators and most op's disabled it, wondering if it's the same for the GP'2's.

Thanks!

The parts are the same between the two games, so I don't see why one would be somehow better than the other.

I've had a pair of Mario Kart GPs at an arcade for over a year. So far, I haven't had any issues with FF.

For my cabs I have

Recapped the Triforce motherboards
Replaced the PSUs
Replaced the steering wheel pots
Replaced the sketchy barrel connector on one of the routers for a simple 2-pin AMP UP connector. Had camera and link errors because it was losing power. Pic below.

Thanks so much for the reply!!! I just got the triforce boards back from Ken with new fans and caps, I also replaced the power supplies with new ones from Namco.

Regarding the steering wheel pots, are they 5K 5 million turn 'long life' pots, such as used in Rush the rock etc? I have two of those in stock. Thanks again.

I bought new ones from Namco. I think they're 5K. I can take a pic in a few days.

Thanks @nem Namco said the pot is DE475-15417-00 which is a 1K 280 degree pot, I thought it would be 5K too? Maybe they gave me the wrong part number?

Honestly, I could remember wrong. Sega always uses 5K and I have way more Sega machines than Namco ones. I'll check tomorrow or the day after.

Just a FYI for future reference, people with Mario Kart GP 1's and 2's, I have confirmed with the resident expert at Namco that the steering wheel pot is indeed a 1K pot DE475-15417-00
