Hi there. Used to run an arcade back in California a lifetime ago (20 years+) and getting back into the scene. Moved to FL some time ago since I wanted to be able to afford a house though.

Still have a ton of MVS carts (only 2 bootlegs - surprisingly!) and still have a leftover Super Neo 29. Sold off all my old stuff, regrettably due to lack of space, but looking to get back into things again.

Happy to be here.

Hello and welcome! In my head 20 years ago is the 80s - but IRL more like the 90s or early 2000s :-)
A lot of interesting stories from back in the day I’m sure, can’t wait to hear some of them, the “all cash” nature of the business attracted some characters. No serial number on a quarter
Great fortune holding onto the Super Neo 29 is an iconic cab - classic 90s vibe

Lion King is 31 years old this year... feel old yet?

Yeah, I paid $250 back in the day.. Crazy how much cabs go for these days isn't it? I had some people once drop me 3,000+ Japanese tokens into my Initial D machine. One of my employees caught them because he heard that the coins sounded different when hitting the coins in the coin bucket. Crazy story, that one! They were minors so I didn't arrest or press charges but I did have their parents pay for my losses.

Hearing what cabs used to go for hurts my soul a tiny bit, but I don't regret paying current day prices for my cabs. I have a great time playing on them with my friends and family, and that's all that matters.

It does hurt doesn't it? They used to be so cheap. We took it for granted. I just bought a pair of Versus Cities from a nice fella here on the forum and I was a bit taken aback but hey. It is what it is right?

Welcome! If you have any pictures of your old arcade, I'm sure we'd all love to see them!
Oh my goodness, I'll have to check and see if we have any. It was a long time ago!

Welcome aboard!
Thanks!

Welcome back! Stay a while, stay forever!
I'm sure I'll be staying for a while for sure. I'll be posting photos as we restore the Versus Cities. :)

Welcome back
Thank you!

Welcome!

I am a current arcade owner/operator and I really enjoy meeting other owners, esp from your era! That time period is when I had to start traveling to find arcades, so I got some very fond memories

Back then was the era of some of the greats. SVHL, SHGL, FFA, AI, the "old days".
