Hi all,
I came across this Athena in set of boards I purchased. The CPU is the same A6001-UP02-01 that is refenced in the MAME driver, but the video board is A6001-UP01-01, which is not referenced. You can see there is a factory bodge section which necessitated the more common video board revision.
The graphics ROMs all match MAME, as do the sound ROMs. But the main program ROMs are most similar to the set called "athenab" which has a note "really a bootleg?" in the MAME driver. The 27256 ROM is identical to the one in the athenab set, but the 27128 ROM has a handful of byte differences.
Comparing to MAME, this board runs faster but I haven't gotten deep into it yet to figure out if it's a MAME thing. I'll try to compare to MiSTer as it should be pretty spot on for speed.
