Hey thanks for making these!

Just ordered 4. I noticed it uses an 8 pin mini din. I'd like to set this up with a VGA switcher via an extron to vga on OSSC. Are there any ready made cables I can order? If not what can I do to make my own cables? Most mini din to vga cables I found do not match the pin out.

Would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks.

Thanks for the support! There is a manual with pinouts etc on the site. And there will be a hardcopy shipped with your order aswellm Once we move into the second bigger batch we will also sell RGBscart cables.

Pretty cool! I thought the website looked familiar for a while before I realized that I bought VR accessories from Mamut before a really long time ago (Quest 1!)

Glad people are making these, and especially when it's other people in Sweden :P

I don't really have time to make and sell things like this, and definitely dont have the effort to offer support and stuff to buyers. Redesign seems nice as well. The smaller transformer is nice :)

That's awesome! Yeah we've been trying to release cool shit for a while :D

And thanks Buffi :*

RGB has one, but it's sold out:

There's an adapter you can build, but I'm not sure if the orientation works with the GT Betsu Betsu:

Thanks for the link. Added myself to notification list.

Yeah I saw the adapter but it might not be needed.

Honestly is it possible to just hack apart a vga cable and connect that to the screw terminals? I don't mind if its not neat and flush. Its all going to be hidden behind the cabs anyway. Something like Betsu Betsu -> Screw terminal -> stripped end of vga cable -> Intact end of vga cable -> OSSC?

Sure, you could do that.
Could you explain the pin out to me?

I know VGA uses H sync and V sync.

Would I be able to just do this?

VGA stripped end
Betsubetsu - screw terminal

Pin 10 - GND
Pin 4 - GND
Pin 9 - +5VPin 5 - +5v
Pin 13 - Hor syncPin 3 - CSYNC
Pin 3 - BluePin 6 - BLUE
Pin 2 - GreenPin 7 - GREEN
Pin 1 - RedPin 8 - RED

Do I need to solder on a 180 ohms resistor or is that only needed for scart?

That looks good.

The BetsuBetsu video output is attenuated, so you don't need to add any resistors.

Excellent. I'll report back when after my order comes in and I try this. Thanks for your help.

What do you mean by attenuated? The official instructions do call for a 180ohms resistor in the scart line. Is that just if I was directly connecting to a scart source like a European TV? I'm not going to add it to my solution but I'd just like to understand this stuff better.

Pin 16 is for blanking on the scart connector. It tells the monitor that the signal is RGB.

It does not exist on a VGA connector.

Attenuated means that the video levels are safe for normal TVs and monitors.

Yes, that is correct! Manufacturing is a strong word, I wire them up in my workshop ;)
I currently have two 1.5m cables left and one 0.5m. I can make them up to 3m. Scart or VGA at the other end is possbile.
But...I'm shipping from Sweden, so it might now be worth the shipping cost for some. But if you're in Europe. Let me know!

€23 for 1.5m
€42 for 3m

Thanks for the tag @aerobert <3
