Up for sale is a Sega Blast City arcade cabinet in incredible, near-mint condition, a true grail for collectors and arcade enthusiasts. This home-use-only (HUO) machine was imported directly from Japan and has likely had only two owners in its lifetime. It is one of the best-preserved Blast Cities you’ll find, if not the absolute finest in North America.

Highlights & Condition:
* Monitor (Nanao MS2931): Estimated to have fewer than 100 total hours of use, evident by the near-pristine condition and complete lack of dust on the chassis.
* Negative Coin Count Mech: Factory-set below zero for testing and demo purposes, preserving its as-new state.
* Marquee Light: Never used before my ownership. I had to unwrap the original fuse to test and confirm functionality.
* Kick Plate Sticker: Still intact on the front bottom kick plate—a rare sight for a Blast City of any age.
* Includes Dotori-kun test board, original manual, and from factory list of whats included in the original private sale—a level of provenance that’s virtually unmatched.

This machine’s history/ provenance can be confirmed by Cereth/Game Saru, a respected name here. It has been meticulously cared for, and the condition truly speaks for itself.

I’ve been an active member of the arcade community, and my character and history as a collector are well known. Numerous forum members can vouch for me, and testimonials are available upon request. For serious buyers, I’m happy to provide additional photos, videos, or even a live FaceTime tour of this incredible cabinet.

Why This Cabinet?
The Sega Blast City is one of the most beloved arcade cabinets of all time, and this particular example is a once-in-a-lifetime find. The combination of its condition, provenance, and complete documentation makes it a true collector’s dream.

Price: $15,000

If you’ve been searching for the perfect Blast City, this is your chance to own what is likely the nicest and most minty unit available anywhere. Don’t miss this opportunity to add a truly exceptional piece to your collection.

Feel free to ask any questions here or via PM. Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to finding the right home for this amazing cabinet!

An Astro in similar condition sold for $20k last year on Yahoo Auctions. I’d argue this cabinet is both more popular and less common, especially in this condition. While I’m open to offers, I believe this is a particularly special piece.

Respected techs in SoCal have seen it firsthand and consider it a complete specimen. I’m happy to provide additional documentation, videos, or even a FaceTime call for anyone seriously interested. The backside and the interior monitor chassis are particularly impressive. However, I prefer not to move it around unnecessarily, even just out from the wall, as I take great precautions to care for it. This machine is powered through a step-down converter and has never been exposed to US voltage. It also doesn’t receive direct sunlight, ensuring its condition is well-preserved.

I guess this is like the arcade equivalent of a concours car?

A cool thing indeed.

Interested to see what actually happens here… 🤔

I watched a YouTube video a couple of years back on this cab! (assume it's your channel)

Amazing to see what a Blast City would have been like when it was brand new.

I really appreciate you watching the channel, I wish I liked making videos more. They're fun to have made but not that fun to make. I even like shooting them but always get bored and distracted while editing. I have a bunch of new videos shot that I just never finished. It still means a lot that people have watched them.

Ha, it’s good stuff. The vewlix buying guide was handy when I got mine. I knew I had seen this cab somewhere though, I think you were networking 2 Blasts together for CVS2 👍

I would make guides like that for buying other cabs I have experience with but most candies aren't easy to get so Id mostly be teasing people.

You know your way around the blast, that would be a good one considering some of the problematic chassis, convergence issues, model 3 or Jamma wiring etc.

Ive had 5 of them now. Ive never had an ms2933 though always looked for one but even when the cab should have had one, someone had harvested it already.

Apologies if this goes off topic from the thread a bit, but is there any significant difference between the MS2933 and other chassis found in Blasts?

I have one in mine that I had recapped, but the tube is a bit tired so I feel like I never really experienced that monitor in good condition.

The 2933 is the last revision trisync in the MS2930 series. It's an updated version of the MS2931 with more SMD components and a different murata protection module. They are reportedly more reliable than their predecessors and I don't think there are any known reports of the 2933 cracking tubes like the 2930 and 2931 frequently do.

If you have a tired tube, have someone check health with a rejuvenator.
