Hi there,
I was planning to repaint my New Astro's PSU but I suddenly heard about a galvanisation process used to cover these kind of shells sheltering some electronics and exposed to constant heat. I heard they are usually covered with a specific film which gives a black color to the shell. This black colour becomes brown with time. This could explain why these New Astro PSUs are now brown.
The purpose of this topic is to find out if this degradation also happened to the New Astro's PSUs. I guess yes but I'd like your opinion and to collect your experience on this. If the experience is concluant, I'm planing to apply that process (called galvanisation, or blackening) to my shell instead of repainting it by the usual way.
Thanks.

It has closed since 2018 Snif ;(

I contacted him in 2011 to redo mine.
it cost 30 euro this year, really cheap.
I waited too long to do it I live in France, I did not take the opportunity to do it I regret ;(

All that looks like very toxic;(. But that's the way we all like it8o
The steel box dedicated to the cash box (covering the white basket where the money is dropped) costs about 60$ to be electrogalvanized. I think it worth it.

Btw, do somebody knows if this is also possible to give a 2nd youth to the raw feet of the cab that way?
