Hi,

Looking to get some insight on a few points for the Toshiba PD2367 chassis.

I have recently finished recapping + reflowing solder for my backup chassis which was used with a Matsushita tube and I want to connect it to my Toshiba tri-sync tube.

First question:
Does the capacitor at C228 need to be change to 33uf from 220uf? All the documentation I read says as such, but I was not sure if the different chassis revisions are consistent on the change. Most information mentions chassis PD1893 and not PD2467.

Second question:
I’m going to have to make a lot of calibration changes with the new tube from the remote. Is the focus adjustment only on the neck board pot as I always found the fly back pot never did anything on my other tube.

Thanks!

Pretty sure that one of the two glued pots on the flyback allows to set the most of the focus. There are three pots on it and only one is free from factory but it ain’t the main focus pot despite its label when using the Toshiba tube.
Can’t just remember wich one of the two…

Thanks!

I did end up going with the 33uf capacitor to match the tube.

It seems like the focus pot on the neck and the top focus pot that was factory glued on the fly back were the only ones that really impacted focus on my monitor. The middle pot didn’t appear to do anything.

Looks to have come out nicely outside of some geometry issues that I need to iron out.

Great ! The picture looks fine.
The more time goes, the more I tend to prefer the Tosh PD over my MS9 with low res games too.
Well, I guess it depends which system is running on and which mood I’m in 😅
