DARKSOFT Get your AES Multi here

Looks like there's issues going on with Alejandro (Alex) Romero Bravo of Terraonion. He's gone awhol and is chastising all his customers who simply ask for some customer support.

I personally went through hell when I bought a Terraonion NEOSD cart and the cartridge shell doesnt go into my neo geo AES properly... I tried 3d printing a different center piece that aligns both the pcb boards but that didn't fix the issue... regular neo geo carts i own go in my aes without me fighting it. Never had this issue resolved so kinda annoyed by that and the fact that I cant load aes roms into it without using their demented conversion tool. I dont support piracy but when I want to just try out a neo geo aes game that I dont own... it'd be nice to just try it out on something I paid over $500 for!

Anyways besides the dumpster fire with Terraonion being ran by the equivalent of the retro gaming worlds soup nazi... i'm not on here to beg for Darksoft to just release another batch of AES multicarts if its financially too hard because of the overhead costs and all the other stuff it takes to produce them.... I'm begging to pass on the information as an open source or to some flashcart maker with good customer service that's willing to continue making them if you're no longer going to produce them anymore.

I really feel my neo sd cart is a relic to use ontop of it's stupid annoying shell that doesnt fit into my neo geo aes properly. I just want a proper product without having to deal with alex romeros customer service issues.

That Alex on the Discord group is a joke. Although mine works ok in my AES, how the customers have been treated I will never support TO with my money ever again.

Has Darksoft shared why AES carts are no longer made? I've studied the Furrtek MVS2AES adapter FPGA code as well as what Vortex wrote for his multi-cart (they're basically identical) when compared to what the MVS code does, and it's pretty straight forward. Is it just the shell that's holding them from being produced? I can't see anything else that might be the issue.

I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but what about selling just the PCB? (The way Krikzz sold some of his EverDrive units for years) Leave it to the end user to supply the AES shell.

AES has always been selling slower than MVS and I had a bad experience sitting with a lot of carts and TO for many reasons. MVS once a year with prepayment, I know it will sell, but AES, I'm a bit scared honestly and to make it be worth, I'd need to produce over 100 units. Is there so many people willing to buy one? Think that you can get a MVS and use the Furrtek adaptor and it will work well.

@TerraManBunion thanks. I knew Alex was not the nicest guy putting it mildly. He was complaining that Krikzz fled to Spain when the country got invaded. On top of that he started bitching that Krikzz skimps on import taxes with fake custom declarations and that his company paid income taxes for years in Spain. He only forgot to tell he moved his entire company to Andorra so he doesn’t have to pay taxes. Something with double standards?
He was only bitching because Krikzz makes the superior product and he is still shipping them from Sumy which is less then 100km from the Russian border.

I could forgive his immorality but shipping a broken product that costs this much and not giving any support is just maddening.

Yes, different connector and one of the bus is serial instead of parallel. You can use one of the Fusion converters from Furrtek and the MultiMVS will work also on AES.
Get a real furrtek converter to be sure though.
I have a clone (that I didn't know was a clone or related to furrtek's design) and it doesn't work.

That's unfortunately the case, I've seen some guys in ebay selling that clone without his permission and making money out of his work.

Yeah it's particularly hilarious the guy has resentment for krikzz having success. Krikzz has a wider range of flashcarts that are more affordable. My brother in law has mostly krikzz nintendo flashcarts because krikzz has a better reputation whereas Terraonion has a lineup of just expensive products with more niche consoles. It doesn't take a genius to realize that if you sell one product and that customer has a good experience, they'll likely come back to buy another product of yours. Alex doesn't offer more affordable options and a wider console product line like krikzz does.

In my personal experience I prefer the retro community to have options and I never want to cast shade at hardware devs especially... but if you're doing business that's entirely one sided where the customer doesn't get what he paid for, there's a huge problem in that. I needed my cart to fit in the cartridge slot seamlessly.. that's a no-brainer... especially for what I paid for with the NeoSD.
I prefer to buy non-chinese products also because we all know how shit they are mostly and lack of customer support that comes with that. The NeoSD would of been much better accepting bin files instead of .neo files without having to use the dumb conversion tool for the roms... for example if I want to try out Last hope for the neo geo, the roms available online but Neo DEV team doesn't sell the .neo converted file. I guess I could just buy the cartridge off ebay? but will i even like the game? who knows because renting games isn't a thing anymore. It'd be nice to try out other new neo geo games also without having to fill my shelves up with limited living space. You can just emulate the games really but man if I have the hardware? i'd rather play it on my couch then at my computer.

It's also annoying the firmware upgrades just aren't on the website like any NORMAL hardware developer for video game related accessories.

At this rate I'll have to hold off until someone else comes along whenever that is so I can upgrade to a flashcart that's much better.

Just give the customer what he wants ALEX! SHEESH!
