I recently want to add grounding to NAC, I believe I could have added a new cable to back of the panel but I do not have appropraite tools to crimp the cables and didnt want to take a chance as its AC power so what I did is I grabbed a computer power cable and added the ground cable to this point (below image) of the cab (screws on the back pannel has gone bad and it wont open). Then I plugged the grounding cable to a power strip where the Cab's power cable is plugged as well. I also added label to the hot wire of this power cable to to make sure I plug it in the narrow side of the socket. I have two questions:

1- Does this make sense?
2- Looks like the power cable is the original one as it has 1994 and some japanese markings on it. Does this cable needs to be replaced considering how old this is ?

I just grabbed one of these grounding wires (I think they're normally used in appliances and RV applications), connected it to the screw terminal ground point on the back of the cab, zip tied the cable to my existing power cable, and called it a day. I got the cable on ebay several years back, so I don't know if this website in particular is legit, but it matches what I bought exactly.

thats essentially what I have done, how did you plug that ground wire into the socket ?

This is how I converted my NAC to not only be electrically safe, but also support plugging in different power supplies, PCs, consoles. Etc. Hope this helps.

thanks, I followed your diagram to get familiar with the cable points but I do not want to crimp a new power cable cable.

The pin crimped on the end of the cable just goes straight into the ground of a standard 3 prong outlet, as shown on the webpage.

I would say it's probably worth exploring crimping your own wires if you want something more custom. Learning to crimp wires of all sorts might be one of the most underrated things to know in this hobby. Plus it's not that expensive to get started until you move on to more complicated stuff like entire harnesses.

Thanks this helps, yeah i do have crimping tool for smaller wires but nothing for 16awg wires. Also i kind of low key wana keep the original cable.
