I have always paid big money for my cabs; they always look super, from non smoking private party and I. excellent collection conditions because my cabs are actually seating in my living room and not on some kind of old basement or garage.. all my toys are in this condition inside my place and yes, I don't mind paying the extra cost.

Point of it all pretty much is no matter how clean a used machine is from Japan, you can expect at least traces of the arcade smoke in them somewhere, no matter how new the game is. Everyone should know that in advance, and if at a big deal, you should probably buy something new or from a collector who is already stateside and has cleaned it. Games that are only a couple years old aren't bad at all, and I have once or twice gotten games that were brand-new, but otherwise it's unavoidable.

I've had several filthy Astro Cities in my house and they do not smell up the house. Plastic and metal doesn't retain the smell much. If you nearly touch your nose to it, sure, you can smell it. Otherwise, clean it and you'll be fine. Absolutely not the case for wooden cabinets though. They will smell for life unless you burn them.

I know how you feel. Have two little kids and a third due anyday now. I want my cabinets to be completely clean inside and out. If I had the money I would be all over SNK-NEO-GEO’s Vewlix Diamonds. But alas to be able to get a cabinet I want at the price I can afford has always meant that I had to put in some time thoroughly cleaning them.

My experience with Candy Cabs has been two Blast Citys. While standing next to them one had a slight smell to it and the other had none. But if you opened up the cabinets and took a nice deep inhale...yeah not the greatest smell in the world. With that said it’s amazing what a gallon of Simple Green can do. After doing a complete tear down on one of my Blast Citys and spraying every part with Simple Green it’s amazing how clean it became. No more smell inside and no more black fingers every time you try and work on the inside.

Any cabinet you buy off location or that doesn’t come from another person in the hobby will need cleaning. My last New Astro City was yellow from nicotine, but I got out some cleaner, paper towels and went to work.

Assume these cabs are coming straight off location and just clean them inside and out before you bring it inside.

I think if you can't afford to buy new then you should always assume that the cabs need to be cleaned.
Regardless of whether they have been in a smoke riddle Japanese arcade or not. They have generally had a pretty hard life of abuse. Covered in greasy sweaty hands, had drinks and food split all over them etc. Its worth giving them a birthday and taking them apart to clean them properly and get the years of grime off them.
The bonus of this is that you will learn about your cabinet. How its put together, where the wires all go and possibly find little treasures in the process. All sorts of crap lurks within them.
Get your hands dirty and get to know what you've bought.

I did a good job cleaning the outside of my cabs, the insides not so much. :whistling:
The cig smell will fade over time regardless of any cleaning.

Someday I was going to take them fully apart piece by piece and hand wash sections/panels.
It's just a big job and I prefer to use my limited time actually playing arcade games/boards (zero shelf queening). ;)

Ok so good news and bad news. Good news, prices are better. Bad news, much lower stock. Sounds a bit more what I expected price-wise though. One FC, six Fs, four AMI Ls. FC is $1,750, F and AMI L is $1,500. I deeply apologize for the previous report, I didn't expect a stock and price change so quickly. I do however have some better photos of the cabs. Note: all cabs have IOs; the ones with NESiCA panels have FastIO boards instead of JVS boards. That's at least two Ls and one FC with FastIO. I'll reach out individually later tonight or tomorrow.

JVS IO:

Update before I'm out for 1.5 weeks. About to go to San Antonio for San Japan.

Blast Cities are pretty much spoken for, what is left I'd prefer to keep. I got photos of the ones coming in, will slowly try to get those to people. They look cosmetically better than what I got before, so it's probably better to wait for these before sending stuff out, unless people are in a hurry for a cab.

There's been no interest for NAOMI Universals or Net City, not sure if there are any more. Same with Noirs and SQs. There will however be some New Net City and New Versus coming 2nd week of September, and I may snag some of them.

This is two containers. The first will ship sometime after 2nd week of September, since we are waiting on a few cabinets to fill it out. Anyone committing to a cab should use that timeframe to get your cabs secured and paid. I have a packing list that includes everything that is sold or tentatively sold, will need all of it paid by the time it goes out!

Second container will be a hard ordering cap. I could keep going but I should probably take a break and reflect a bit. I'm still a long ways from being able to front for goods and sell after they arrive. I'm striving for that, but it's a big investment I can't really make right now. Depending on demand, I'll start another or just wait until after the holidays. I think there's space for maybe 10-15 small cabs, tops. This one should arrive early enough for deliveries to be completed before the holidays.

As I said I'm going to be gone for a while, but just means my responses and posts will be fewer and farther in between. I'll be back in business around the 7th.

These are arriving at the end of October and will be ready to ship. We're only held up on unpaid orders and some stuff that is supposed to come in on the 16th, so if you're interested in these, now is the time to hop on. I'll still have the rest for the next container, and will open up for cab requests until that one is full. Not sure if taking a break after that.

Vewlix L AMI, F, FC - There might be 1 left of each, but all are pending sale.
Blast City - All are pending sale
jubeat - Still waiting to hear about Festo art $2,250

Everything else is next container. Awaiting newer stock list in mid-September as well.

Four more AMI Vewlix Ls coming in. They will probably come on the next container.

If the FCs come in for us, I can confirm we have stock of at least one each of the following Vewlixes that will be packed and come on the first container. I think a large chunk are FastIO, the rest are JVS. All panels are 1L, and a large chunk are standard Astro-type normal or NESiCA panels. I'm working on getting the Vewlix NESiCA panel labels scanned for reproduction, so if you want those, I'll be able to point you to someone who can do them.

Vewlix L AMI: $1,500
Vewlix F: $1,500
Vewlix FC: $1,750

Other unsold items that are coming in on the container:

Rhythm Tengoku: $1,100
Project DIVA: Future Tone: $3,000 (please allow extra time for processing)

Currently available to order (feel free to ask about others, list isn't perfect and I'm expecting a newer stock list this week):

Noir: $1,000
New Net City: $1,000
New Versus City: $1,750
jubeat: $2,250
Sound Voltex + Generator: $5,000
Museca: $2,250
CROSSxBEATS: $2,250
Pop'n Music HD: $5,000
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy: $1,250
Reflecbeat: $1,200

Very nice @jassin000, but for me a Noir (or Blanc) would finish my kind of holy trinity...

- Namco Cyberlead (basically the Tekken 3 cab)
- Sega New Net City in the Tekken 5 edition
- Namco Noir, IMO the cab for TTT2

Doesn’t come any closer than that I would say, not counting the US style dedicated cabs :)
