For the best quality picture with an ossc you need to use optimally tuned profiles. Here are my setting and how implement them.
Make all of these adjustments with the game running and the ossc displaying it.
Press menu on the ossc remote scroll down and select sampling opt. using OK on the remote. Scroll down to Adv. Timing tap the left arrow until 320x240 is displayed then tap OK on adv. timing and enter the following values in the adv. timing menu
H. samplerate 412
H. samplerate frac 412
H. synclen 31
H. backporch 61
H. active 301
V. synclen 3
V. backporch 21
V. Active 234
H. border 0
V. border 0
Sampling phase start at 180 deg (this can be adjusted if picture is not sharp after you set the output options)
Back out to the main menu scroll down to output options and tap ok change line 2x,3x,4x,5x mode to 320x240 optim. and set line 5x format to 1920x1200. I get the best picture in line 4x mode but 5x may work better depending on your display.
One last thing is this profile was made using a NAC splitfire outputting to the vga port of the OSSC. If you are using a supergun and outputing scart your H and V backporch settings may need to be adjusted if the picture is cut off a little. Easiest way to check is to pull up the crosshatch in the test menu. Once you have it all dialed in dont forget to save your profile.
