Is there a tool you are setting up or docs that will be available for people to make their own custom versions?
 
No tool, no docs, but you can learn 34010 asm, use notepad++ and compare the code before & after this change.

I'm using actual 90's Midway tools that are 30 years old for all of this, in Dosbox-X.
 
Thank you for doing this. Hangtime is my favorite arcade game ever. I would love to see some things in this game get fixed.
I've released mod projects for sports games on SNES, Gamecube, and PS3. I've been working on NBA JAM: On Fire Edition (PS3) for more than 5 years, and have released two projects for that game. I have no experience hacking arcade roms, but I'm sure I can help.

I'd love to fix uniform colors (so many are off, but DET, HOU, TOR, DEN, and VAN are the most inaccurate), add missing players (Jordan Shaq and Barkley are the big ones, but others like LaPhonso Ellis, Dan Majerle, and Dominique Wilkins could maybe be copied from NBA Jam), and change some player ratings (many of the 97 rookies are very overrated).

Your mods on those other platforms, and work on PS3 is amazing. I see you found the git and are now also able to compile :)

Once everything is in a finished state you can play it on real hardware, or on Mame.

As it currently stands you'll need to add & burn 4x27C801 (gfx) in empty sockets, and 6x new sound roms (we have more sounds, an extra 27c801 is needed) and 2x 27C040 for program code (which you can reuse).

There is currently no release, the team is hard at work.

Oo nice i cant wait to play it..ok so nba jam te 5.02 is thay the rewind hack ? Or is that a new ver of the game id like to update my roms
 
Hey @Asure, first of all thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

A little bit about my mission and so far "hobby" project. I want to make a NBA Hangtime remake, using Godot in 3D, but keeping as much as the vibe as possible a.k.a. speep, gameplay, animations.

For this I'm dumping all NBA Hangtime assets to use them as reference, everything will be made from scratch, but the quantities and approach I want to keep as much as possible. That being said, I have already ripped all audio, succesfully, which to me is one of the greatest reasons why NBA Hangtime is so much better than NBA Jam.

Now I'm using your midway-imgtool, I have succesfully saved individual images inside a IMG packet to TGA and then converted to JPG. My question is, can I do this in batch of some sort? Save the whole IMG container in individual TGA automatically, that would save me so much time.

Other than that hope you are doing great and cheers to all NBA Hangtime enthusiats.
