I have this Hantarex Polo/2. Adjusting the width coil seems to have no effect. The image stays too wide no matter what I fiddle with. Is this something that would require e to swap film caps to get it dialed in? Anyone know which caps are responsible and what value to change them to to reduce width?

Thanks, but that appears to be a cap map for the Polo, not the Polo/2.

Also, the horizontal width coil seems to have no effect. The H.Amp pot on the remote board does change the width, but only at full/nothing positions, and the difference is like 5 pixels.

Ohhh, progress? So when I was recapping, one cap didnt appear on my list, so I marked it for replacement later and moved on. In my quest to inspect every single component in the horizontal circuit I stumbled upon it again. Lo and behold, it's not supposed to be an electrolytic cap! On the schematic it's listed as "C87 - 220n" but no voltage ratings is mentioned and I can't find a full parts list for this chassis.

So, what should I replace this with? I assume the square footprint on the silkscreen should roughly match the size of the cap, should that indicate the correct voltage?

Found a short in T19, replaced it and the pincushion was gone and the h-amp pot was responding again! ...for 10 whole minutes. I still couldn't get the width down enough to fit the screen, and then the image went all wibbly-wobbly, and them boom, back to exactly where it was before. Shorted transistor and all.

So, what burns up transistors like that?
