Hi all. I have the HD15 PCB on my HAS Supergun, and inputs / audio are working great. However, running a VGA cable to my Extron RGB 203 Rxi, which works with other RGBHV signals, doesn’t seem to work. It’s like the picture doesn’t sync.

Has anyone set this up? The CSync switch SW3 is set to “B”.

Looking at my HAS 3.2 manual, it sounds like you can toggle the csync switch between buffered or regenerated mode. The regenerated mode is meant to help with sync for Taito F3 pcbs or other pcbs with problematic sync. It might be worth trying. Double check your HAS manual.

Are you able to connect your HAS directly to your monitor without the Extron 203 rxi? Does the video sync in that case?

I'm not sure if this matters here, but the HD15 adapter (and the HAS in general) outputs RGBS, not RGBHV. Do you have a VGA->BNC cable? If so, the Sync input of the Rxi requires the CSync to be at TTL level. https://www.extron.com/product/rgb203rxi "Specifications".

@RGB the Extron RGB 203 has VGA input, BNC is for output only.

On most of cases Extron will accept pure sync directly from PCB, but some specific ones like CPS3 and some mv1fz i get no sync without a sync stripper.

Thanks all! @RGB is right, the HD15 port is sending RGBS, not RGBHV. I went digging and found a VGA to BNC cable and it works great, going directly to the monitor.

You can still use with Extron if you wish, just need to change HAS sync mode.

I just did a test with my Extron 164rxi to a Sony PVM-8041Q. I set my HAS csync level switch to output TTL rather than 75ohm. I set the sync processing switch to Regenerated (position A). Any other combination resulted in no image on the monitor.

I also have an Extron 202 rxi I'll test.

My Extron 202 rxi produces an image, but it's problematic. The unit accepts input through 9-pin connectors. I think my adapters are causing issues. Specifically, it looks like only the sync and red signal are getting through. Also, the weight of the adapters seem to pull the connection loose if I'm not careful. Although, I recall this unit and the adapters worked fine before. It's possible something was damaged.

Otherwsie, my red image is stable. Both Regenerated and Buffered sync types from the HAS work when it's set to output TTL levels. However, at 75ohm, only Regenerated sync works in this case. Otherwise, the Extron reports "No Signal" and no image is visible on the monitor.

Finally, I had all the dip switches on the Extron set to off. If I turn on the DDSP switch, I lose the ability to use Horizontal and Vertical centering knobs.

Thank you for explaining that! I have a couple of other Extron devices as well but I assumed the 203 Rxi was similar enough. When I have time I will change the TTL / 75 Ohm switch, as it's currently on the 75 Ohm setting.
