I wanted it at one time, then I played it in MAME and it’s so bloody difficult (or I just suck at it) I gave up...

It actually came out after the original Famicom game... But imo still a must have if you're an addict like me. (I suck at it too)

I was going to mention this, also I think the MSX port predates it (but I need to check the release date again).
Its (Haunted Castle) insanely difficult, the size/speed of the character sprite in relation to the dangers/projectiles pretty much ensures it.

yeah I just saw that.. actually came out after Simons Quest. I always thought it was the other way around
