Hello from Las Vegas, NV.

[RX93]

Hello. I'm RX93 from Las Vegas.

My fascination with arcade games started in the late 90's and early 2000's. I'd spend many weekends at one of the local arcades playing Time Crisis 2, Silent Scope, Tekken, and LA Machine Gun. Those were the best times when I was growing up.

I had no idea what a candy cab was until I played on an Astro City and Vewlix at my university over a decade ago. Since then, I told myself one day I would have to own a candy cab.

In January, I got a Unico Nova Blast, and while it scratched the itch, I knew I was going to end up getting a Vewlix. Fast forward this week, I am awaiting delivery of a Vewlix F from Hadouken Arcade.

My favorite games are Dodonpachi, Time Crisis 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2, 4, and 6.

See ya around.

Welcome! Vegas used to have so many good arcades. How do you like the Nova?

Vegas used to. It's sad that now they kind of don't.

The sheet metal is thin and the whole entire unit would never stand up to commercial use; the amplifier for the speakers is dog shit. Beyond that, I think it captures the experience of an old candy cab without having to maintain an old, expensive machine. I've probably had about a hundred hours of fun on it already. It'll be my entry into owning some real arcade hardware. I'm on the lookout for a CPS2 and Alpha 2. I currently run a mini PC on it.

There is a great Vegas arcad me at my house!

Welcome!

I got my Vewlix today. Not the worst condition it could be, but it's going to be a project.

Welcome and good project for you.

Welcome to the fun money pit known as arcade collecting! The Vewlix F is a great machine. I bought one from a local friend a few years ago. I upgraded the screen to a 1080p display using an LG Monitor and a bracket kit from Hadouken Arcade. It is currently running the multi setup on a Type X 3. What do you plan on running in the Vewlix ?

I bought an LG 32GX870A a couple of weeks ago that I'm going to place in the machine.

I also bought the bracket a couple of weeks ago as well, but I haven't received it yet.

A year ago I made a consolized PC build with a Minisoforum BD895i and a Radeon 9070, and I'd use it as a home entertainment center. I think I'll just repurpose it to run on the Vewlix.
