Hello!

I wanted to make a quick introduction post as I will probably be active on these forums in the next couple of months. Long story short, I should (god, I hope) be receiving a New Astro City cab in the next coming weeks as the ship carrying the one I have purchased has currently made it to port. Probably not a huge deal amongst this group, but for someone who has been searching on and off for the last five years or so for any sort of candy cab to show up for sale within 500 miles of north Florida, I’m excited.

In anticipation of the cabs arrival, I’ve been slowly purchasing things. So far, I have:

- Darksoft CPS2
- CPS1 Multi
- IGS PGM with the Cave conversions
- Supergun/Cbox for testing and playing while I wait

I also have a couple drawers full of arcade parts, mostly controls, as I've been modding arcade sticks for various consoles the last couple of years. I’m a nerd for sticks, buttons and springs and have purchased/experimented with JLFs/JLWs, most Seimitsu models and some Korean levers. While I’m comfortable with the controls aspect of arcade hardware, outside of using a supergun to play my boards, I’m fairly green when it comes to arcade maintenance/hardware. I also have very minuscule soldering skills and currently do not have a soldering gun of my own (that will probably need to change soon).

On a different note, my favorite genre is shmups/STG, followed by 2D fighters. I also have a soft spot for the Konami beat ‘em ups and Midway games, as most who grew up in American arcades in the 90s do.

That said, I’m looking forward to bringing one more candy cab to Florida (we need more!) and being a part of this cool ass community.

Welcome! I haven't been here long myself but always cool to see someone in my neck of the woods.
