Really enjoying Vengeance Hunters. Just wonder what else is out there that you guys really like. Can be physical cart or rom. Also, are there any you'd recommend staying away from? Thanks.

Neofid is releasing Demons of Asteborg for the Neo Geo. It was a great game on the sega megadrive, it will get some improvements for the neo geo.
It sucks that the carts for the neo geo are so damn expensive otherwise I would be buying more games.

I just looked that game up and it looks pretty cool, just not 500+ dollars cool. Lol Seems like they aren't going to release a ROM either. Shame.

let’s wait and see, they did release the rom for SEGA for both of their previous games. Hopefully they will sell the ROM as well, would be a shame if they would invest all the effort to sell just a handful of carts.

They are also helping bitbeamcannon with Daemonclaw which also gets a gets a Neo Geo release.

Another indie dev is bitmap bureau, they will release Final Vendetta soon for the Neo Geo. They are selling the Xeno Crisis rom so I expect Final Vendetta will get the same treatment. Seeing that dumping roms isn’t the most challenging thing nowadays I think this is the best approach. Your game will be on the internet soon enough, so might as well earn a buck on the people who do want to pay fair and square.

I was just referring to the Indiegogo page, but you're right. They don't mention anything about Neo Geo, so I guess there is still hope.

Xeno Crisis is one that I actually bought the limited edition for, and I kind of regret it. Not that it isn't a good game—it's a fantastic game, and I love it—but it's just absurd to pay that much money for a single game.

Aah I missed this. Too bad. I understand from studio perspective, but not sure if they’ll sell more by not releasing it as ROM.

The ROM will end up on the internet one way or another. Ok dumping it from a NEO GEO cartridge is more complicated then dumping it from a Megadrive, but I think there won’t be a lot of people shelling out €350-400 euros for a Neo Geo cart. Only 2 million AES and MVS units where sold with maybe only half of them being still alive. Anyway maybe the’ll reconsider after initial release.

It’s a pity those carts are so damn expensive to make, I would love to support all those indy projects like I do for a lot of SEGA MD releases, but my bank account doesn’t allow it :D

The Demons of Asteborg DX release looks promising. I bought their Genesis game rom, and it feels really well put together. Also looking forward to Double Dragon One. Not that I have anything against PvP fighting games, but I was always a bit let down that it was the only Neo Geo Double Dragon game.

I can vouch for Xeno Crisis from Bitmap Bureau. Solid top-down shooter with nice sci fi touches from movies of the 80s/90s. Great gameplay and music. Check it out when you can.

Project Neon MVS Batch #3 just dropped if anyone was waiting.

Also +1 for Xeno Crisis, I think it's fantastic, I even have it on GBA for alien shootings on the go.

Anyone know much about the DaemonClaw release for Neo Geo? There's a kickstarter page that says it was developed by NeoFid, but then the Pixelheart page selling pre-orders says the dev is BitBeamCannon. And there's also apparently a MegaDrive version that's available for pre-order on NeoFid's site, but I don't see the Neo Geo version there. Kinda confusing.

the kickstarter page says this:

Now that we've finished “Astebros” and "Demons of Asteborg, we're teaming up with BitBeamCannon to bring theMegadrive /Genesis version of DaemonClaw to life. The team at Pixelheart are also working with BitBeamCannon to make the Neo Geo version.

sounds like they teamed up with others to port the game to different plattforms :)

Great to hear that. Seems to be sending them from Australia now. I got my Batch #2 from germany.

Any news if Version 1.1 is on the card or when this version will be available for all the others? (The card has WiFi on board to have the possibility to update the game).

Bitbeamcannon is devoloping the game. Neofid is porting it to at least the sega md/genesis. Not sure if they help with porting the game also to the neo geo.
I also got fooled by it to be honest. NeoFid send a mail about the kickstarter for the game but only figured out after I backed the project that they weren’t the main dev’s.
Although they are not the main dev’s, I’m still happy I backed the project. Bitbeamcannon is doing an awesome job updating their backers with a monthly youtube video about their progress. Much better then LRG (or was it strictly limited) who announce games and stay silent for 3 years :D

Communication seems to be a big problem for most Publishers in the game market. Look at the Kickstarter comments for GladMort from Pixelheart. (Releasing MVS/AES maybe next days).

Good communication could be so easy if you do it right... ;)

I was looking at GladMort, too. I agree, communication is often a big issue with indie releases, and just transparency on what's what. There are so many projects out there it's hard to know what's best to put your $ toward. And especially with Neo Geo releases, which can be quite pricey. So when you start researching some of them and end up with more questions than answers, it's tempting to just throw your hands in the air and go back to playing Neo Turf Masters.

I received an email today from PixelHeart stating GladMort should be shipping on Monday 26th for all versions apart from AES JPN which is delayed due to a printing quality issue.

Also received my Project Neon MVS batch #3 cart a couple of days ago.
