HOTD Model 2 without I/O. Positional Gun?

I have a romboard but no I/O. Can I just wire this up like the other gun games?
Alternative positional gun?

you need a JVS IO.

it's designed for a Sega Type 1 IO but I think any IO board with analog inputs and lamp outputs should work.

you could wire up a positional gun to the IO but you wont be able to reload unless you wire up a "screen out" button which would be wonky to play with .

Scratch the above I misread HOTD2 not HOTD Model 2

Model 2 Gun IO translates the CRT position to serial data. theoretically possible to make a positional gun work but you'd need to develop your own positional gun to serial input IO board.
