u definitely un-fucked the shit outta that cab. i wonder if u can heat that original front and get it somewhat back in place. on the bright side u got a good spare bezel now out of it, which is super hard to find. props to you on gettin er done!

Just curious but why snip the speaker cables? They have disconnects to easily detach from the speakers themselves? Or maybe I'm mis-remembering?

Thanks! I meant the fluro tube cable; good pick up, the speakers do have disconnects but they were a pain to get disconnected by hand alone (used a flathead screwdriver).

Damn dude, this is an amazing transformation! Saw the marquee pics on discord but the effort and rest of the project was lost to me there. You revitalized that bird to finally fly again!

Ahh got you, yeah I wish they had designed the fluro assembly so it could be unplugged for this type of maintenance. You can unscrew the brackets but the assembly still hangs awkwardly with no slack on the cabling.
 
I just twisted and heatshrinked the ends when I put it back together.

I gotta get a connector installed there at some point. Any recommends?
