Title says it all. I've read in multiple places that it is possible to power this IO without using Jamma, however I haven't been able to find much info on the CN6 connector people claim to use, abd the only pinout that I could find shows that these are power OUT pins and not IN. Can anyone shed some light or explain if it's possible to power without connecting to the Jamma edge?

Have you tried looking through the JVS Conversion manual? https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/images/9/97/SEGA_cabinet_JVS_conversion_manual_.pdf

There are schematics and pinouts in there for your IO board. A quick glance, it looks like CN7 might be what you're looking for. But definitely check it out, maybe your answers are in there.
Yep thats what I used, it seems like CN7 only has power out not in as well. I need to provide power to the IO board without using the jamma edge. I'm unsure how people are doing it...

This post claims that its both an input/output.

Never heard of something like this, is this something that exists on some boards?
it's just a pass through. if you put a multimeter on the connectors you'll find that both connectors are tied together. so neither is really an input or an output.

imagine you took a piece of wire and you labeled one end "input" and the other end "output" ... is either label really correct?

Ahh I see what you mean, I appriciate the help I am learning little by little lol

I guess other question, do I only need to supply +5v for digital inputs like other sega IOs or does this need 12 v as well?

Thanks my dude, I was going to explain but you articulated it better.

Well... I forgot to switch the setting on my supply from 12v to 5v so I blew it. Anything I can look to replace or is she cooked? The actual board looks suprisingly clean with no visable burns/blown parts.
