Hyper Neo-Geo 64 Rev 1

Hi all,

Recently got a Hyper 64 board rev 1 fighting.
I read a bit around the net and found out that it is not fully Jamma compatible.
Connected it to my supergun but no image was on screen.
Any ideas on if I need a special harness to make it compatible?
Anything with the power?

The board was tested by seller and in perfect visual condition.
BTW, can I run the board without a game? (I tried both, with no image appearing on screen)

It’s jamma-enough. Audio would be troublesome, not video. Do you get a blue screen? How are you measuring your 5v? Which supergun and power supply?

@ekorz , I fixed the problem yesterday. Apparently the 12V line from the PSU was not connected to the SuperGun...
All OK now

Here you have the pinout. From what I remember you really ought hook up the ground and 5v on the extra connector or you risk the motherboard die on you in the future.

The rev 2 version of the Neogeo 64 can be powered off only the edge connector though.

What type of connector is the one in front of the PCB, the Main Power one? I'll be sure to connect it to power and GND as well

I'm honestly not sure as I own the rev 2 board. It's some sort of Molex it looks like at least.
Have some more pages out of the manual, it looks like you need -5V 1A for sound for example.

Upper left pin is 1, upper right is 2, lower left is three and the remaining is 4 it looks like.

The power connector is a JST VLP-04V.
The stereo audio connector is JST YLP-04V.

The Jamma edge has normal mono audio.

As far as I can tell the Jamma edge and extra connector are all tied together, but the edge connector allegedly can't handle the amperage required. The wiring for the power connector in my Hyper Neo 29 Type 2 is 14 gauge which seems way overkill but I don't actually know the amps it draws.
