Motherboard and cartridge were previously working a few weeks ago. Played all the way through KOV2 no problems.

Tried again today and now I’m getting a scrambled screen with the cartridge inserted. I’ve cleaned the connectors on the cartridge and motherboard.

It boots up fine to the test menu without a cartridge and passes the RAM test. Same behavior on my jamma cabinet and super gun.

Yes, I've tested it with three different carts and get the same result on all of them. They were all confirmed working with this motherboard previously.

Take a close look at your PGM cartridge slot and make sure none of the receiver pins are bent or damaged.

What kind of power supply are you using? Have you checked the 5V pin on the JAMMA harness to make sure the board is receiving 5V?

The super gun came with its own power supply and reports 5.2V. The jamma cabinet is using a suzo happ power supply and I’ve tried 5 - 5.25V. Both setups work with other boards.

I do not have another motherboard.

Here’s what the pins look like. I don’t see anything obvious

I have some carts that misbehave dependent on motherboard.
You could try deoxit.

The cart connector looks clean as far as I can tell. 5.2V on the PSU is quite high - you should try to never exceed 5.15V if possible. But I don't think the power is your problem either.

Since PGM are inexpensive boards by arcade standards, I suggest purchasing another one that works. Then you can cross-test the cart connector header and see if that's your troublemaker. If it is, the cart pins can be replaced. If the cart connector header isn't the culprit then you'd have to dig into the depths of diagnosing the board further electronically with logic probes, etc.

Since the internal BIOS and RAM tests are running, the cart connector seems more likely to be the problem more than anything on the board electronics.

Tried some DeOxit. Made no difference. Anyone wanna buy some PGM cartridges?
