I found a only way to make work a the supergun from the picture and a gbscontrol scaler (sorry i dont have an arcade cabinet), is extract directly the RGB signal from a intermediate board vga to the scaler. Connect directly the supergun and the Scaler doesnt works well, very buggy video signal.

And works great.

I left this post if somebody haves a similar problem with this kind of supergun.

BTW the boss in the third picture is so so hard! hehe

@leacnerd which gbs control do you own? The original version only has vga & YUV input. VGA is RGBHV & YUV is YPrPb. Your supergun has RGBS out. So it’s not compatible with either signals. But your setup seems to work now and it looks great.

Aah yes that one should work with RGBS. I don’t know which sync level it outputs, can be that it already out of the box outputs safe level csync while your cable is wired for ttl? Or does it maybe contain a sync stripper because it expects cvbs?
One downside of these Chinese superguns is that it is not always clear which level sync it outputs also the RGB level can be off. Not sure if you own an oscilloscope or know someone with an oscilloscope, but that would be the next step to check. There is a guide on retrorgb on how to measure everything. You could buy a cheap 30 dollar scope on amazon for this purpose.

Still on my list as a retro gaming collector to own, a descent oscilloscope :D.

Btw what was exactly the issue with the picture out of the supergun directly, I assumed it didn’t work at all but just realized it could also be a sync curl issue or flickering image.
PGM has like its predecessor the Neo Geo not the most stable sync. Most upscalers have a hard time with it, I also struggled to make it work with my retrotink 5x. Interestingly CRTs usually don’t suffer. For me the picture was fine, but all of the sudden the picture became unstable with flickering every 5-10 seconds. Also sync curl, top side of the image shifted. You need to tweak your settings to get it stable.

I'm not surprised that the sync signal needs to be stripped or cleaned. The PGM sync signal is notoriously non-standard. I had at least one consumer Samsung CRT I could not get an image with, even with a Jrok sync cleaner on my supergun.
