I've got an error on my MK2 sound board, which corresponds to the chip at U2. I've checked that all the legs are clean, inserted properly, voltages are correct, etc. etc. So, next step is replace the ROM... but I don't have a programmer. Anyone willing/able to burn me a new one for a fee?

If you can’t find anyone you can buy the EEPROMs on this site https://www.buyicnow.com/ and they’ll program it for you. If you’re into arcade hardware I recommend you get a programmer in the future.

I do plan to buy a programmer at some point, but I haven't dived in to that process yet.

And thanks for the link, I'll keep that as a backup. Looks like shipping may take quite a while and I was hoping to get this done a little quicker.

I don't have the ability to burn ROMs yet, so I'm looking for a kind soul to cast pity on me, for a fee, of course!

I now need two specific ROMs: Mortal Kombat II sound ROM U2 and Double Dragon layer ROM 21JK-0.

MK2 U2 is marked M27C4001-10F1. 2
Double Dragon 21J-K-0, I think, is an 82S129/MB7114-equivalent tri-state 256×4 bipolar PROM

Someone help a brotha out?

I'd rather pay someone here for assistance than buy them from a faceless website who-knows-where.

I've got some spare 27C4001-12's on hand, as I understood it to be a suitable replacement for the program board on NBA JAM T.E. (I'm doing an SE update, IIRC - MK2 and NBA Jam share the same platform). If someone experienced can confirm that would be suitable in this case, then I'd be happy to burn you off some. I'm fine to burn them off anyways, but at my knowledge level it would be a: "Maybe?" I'm not sure if the access time difference would matter.

As far as the 21JK-0 goes, unfortunately I haven't got any spare N82S129N's lying around. Moreover, I can't find it in my programmer ( T48 ) listing- though my programmer does have an auto function for 8-pin and below (and I often struggle to find chips in there, anyways, even when it does support it!) There's some chance it may be able to automatically adjust. The other problem there is that I don't know what's actually on that chip to burn. Happy to experiment if you like, they're not crazy expensive on eBay, but it's another maybe.
