Hi everyone, me and @mathewbeall attempted to get my Initial D cabs up and running this weekend, via Wipi and NFC card reader. Most of it was working but we're having issues with the comm boards. Both Naomi2s fire up on each system and initialize but when it comes to the them trying to talk to one another the "Network error" screen pops up. I have a total of 6 comm boards that we tried and none of them seem to communicate with each other.

Kinda lost and any suggestions on what else we can try would help. (fiber optic cables are brand new as well)

It gets past the "waiting for network" or whatever the very first message is - so pretty confident at least the Rx/Tx on the fiber cables are good - after each of them boots (checking card comms and FFB check), then it comes up with "Network Error!" which kind of waves around on the screen.

We tried many different combinations of the (6) comms boards we had - but none were able to get past that message.

Would love any ideas! SOOOO close!

While I was setting up my 4-player Spawn I ran into a Naomi that just would not link. I swapped the Naomi and everything was fine.

ok - seems like things are just very touchy, and it ends up being a "swap one thing out a time to see what works" sort of deal.
that’s been my experience with the naomi platform in general. i have a twin cab initial d and have to tinker with things because they get out of sorts easily

ordered a couple new multibios chips for my Naomi 2. Mathew's setup worked fine in mine, with the notable difference as far as we can tell being my Naomi 2s not having those chips. Fingers crossed

when you get it all working, would love to hear how the nfc card readers are working

Hi apolagied bombimg this thread,

I’m on a mission to get a game into an rtuned cab ,,

Which
ffb boards and I/o does id3 use

Is it same ffb PCB’s as f355?

I’m trying to net boot id3
With f355 I/o only
Jist to boot it then out it in a cab.

Also would Naomi work in a Lindbergh cab ? R-Tuned

I experienced this error a few times while experimenting with my available ID3 versions -- Export ID3, North American ID3 (should be the same as export) & Japan ID3. For some reason the ID3 chip that I had would boot NA ID3, but not export ID3. It should resolve your issues as long as you get the right version -- the Naomis can be picky.

Reflashing to a different BIOS chip solved the different version issue, but I ultimately also wound up enabling Time Hack on my Netbooter out of laziness because despite the BIOS update, it would still crap out on occasion after booting up which is its own separate issue covered on a different thread.

When you say reflashing, do you mean changing out the bios chip? Cause I ordered 2 multibios chip and I’m going to install them
