The fantastically packaged kit directly from @Derick2k :)

Unpacking the kit box...
  1. Left LED PCB
  2. Center LED PCB
  3. Right LED PCB
  4. Cables (3x) & screws (12x)
Please NOTE: Left/Right labels are when behind the cab, IF facing/looking at the monitor, these are reversed.

Step 1: Remove the plexi marquee (2x Philips screws).

Step 2: Remove the upper metal side panel brackets (Left & Right, 1x Phillips screw each/2x total).

Please NOTE: when removing the (Right if behind, Left if facing) bracket, this is the location of the two pin power harness.

Step 3: Remove the back upper plastic panel (6x Philips screws).

Step 4: Remove the plexi marquee holder/bracket (2x 7mm flange nuts).

Step 5: With the bracket/holder removed we can access ALL (2x are hidden) of the front upper plastic panel screws (6x Philips screws).

Please NOTE: Take your TIME!
These are recessed DEEP, very hard to remove without dropping down inside the cab (requiring even MORE disassembly).
This is where I used the forceps to assist with grabbing them once loosened.
Step 6: With both front and back upper plastic panels removed we can now remove the plexi name plate (not pictured).
Leaving only the metal mounting brackets fully exposed/naked.

Step 7: Orientate the "center" PCB (4x Phillips screws per PCB, 12x total) as shown below (wide part facing forwards/towards the monitor, narrow facing back).

Now do the same with the Left/Right sides, connecting the included power cables as we go.

This side of the PCB assembly will connect to the cab harness to receive power.

Step 8: Test it FIRST! Once everything (all 3x PCBs) are working correctly, reassemble! ;)

Admire its raw sexual attraction as the ultimate in Vewlix marquee kits.

Awesome, thank you for doing this J!

When you can, put the correct marquee acrylic on the L to see how it looks. The LED color match to the original is pretty much spot on I would say.

Now to get those proper acrylic marquees done :D

Is step 5 optional, or does it work with a philips head too? Just trying to see how to read the instructions as the tool used is stated as optional. Oh, and awesome work on the guide!

@Dloop you must remove the marquee holder bracket, two of the front upper plastic screws are behind it that need to be removed.
I said the socket wrench was optional because the nut is in a open/exposed area and could be removed with just a pair of pliers/adjustable wrench/etc.

I highly recommend VLX owners invest in a socket wrench with a few key sockets.
7mm being a major one because this is used in many locations, most notably the control panel...
Where nuts are recessed/not accessible/exposed.

Looking at your install pictures closely, did you have to forcefully bend the center pcb to fit? Looks like hole spacing is slightly too big and have to bend pcb to fit holes. Also some interference with the right pcb where the left pcb has a gap.

Installing on a diamond blue.

It did fit tight yes, I didn't mention it because I figured the problem was uniquely mine...
You see in shipping my top support bracket got bent.
I bent it back, but its not perfectly flat anymore so I figured this was the cause.

We’ll see how others get along then, I might be in same boat as you lol.

Elongated holes on the center pcb near the left connector to fit properly
=O Should not have to do this, unless something went wrong in manufacturing with the center PCB which would totally gut me. I had 7 test sets done, and those came out fine. Damn it, let me check if that is the case.

I will send everyone replacement pcbs at my cost of course. Cause I would not accept this. So I extremely apologize for not catching this.

Actually, the other side needs to be enlarged, for whatever freaking reason they are off by 0.5mm

I have no idea why they are off, but I will be sending everyone replacements as soon as I get them manufactured.
In the meantime, you guys can simply enlarge the holes in the direction of the arrow about 1-2mm to be safe. It won't hurt the PCB or the circuit. This is for the center PCB only.

Most likely on the next run, I will do elongated/oval holes for easier alignment.

Kit arrived today, bored out the holes on the center pcb after seeing they were off. No biggie and honestly I'm fine without a replacement @Derick2k it's still stellar. The one thing I am actually angry about is how well the LED's have exposed the scratches! That's it refund! ;)

Man, that looks great 😎. Also got there pretty quickly.

Yeah I told him, new lights mandate new marquee.
Yeah the new Marquees are happening. Im meeting with the plastics fab guys next week to hand them over my marquee so they can do some test cuts and verify measurements against the original before going ahead with order. Everything is super slow here in NY. The demand to get stuff done is insane and everyone is charging internal organ transplant prices.

Also, I have the reflective tape on hand and I want to give a test to see how it works out.

So I just managed the install of this :) I noticed I had a piece of plastic/thick paper, non see through, that covered the hole that the leds would shine through. On my Vewlix L. So I had to just remove this as part of the install but curious if more of you had this?
