Instruction strip backlight recommendations

I'm looking to add a backlight to the instruction strip of my Vewlix L control panel. I'm thinking of using a 12V LED strip lighting (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Daylight-Non-waterproof-Lighting-Gardens/dp/B00HSF65MC) rather than a slim CCFL. What have other people done? Any recommendations? Thanks!

i pretty much did that with mine. I also powered it off my taito jvs board since it had an open 12v out.

Ill post some pics tomorrow got a sick kid that needs attention.

Update: Added the pics not the greatest but you get the idea. You can either use the cable they have for connecting the strips or just solder wires to the connection points. Which is what I did it's not pretty and I need to revisit this when I get time to clean it up.

Thanks Darken, this is really helpful. that instruction strip is the one from sellsellsell? it looks really good backlit. I have the same open connector on the jvs that can be hijacked.

NP the instruction strip is from him. looks like he's selling a different version but if you pm him he might have something better or custom
