What's new
hope rewrite is OK, but Ive gotten a Vortex cart from a different source so I’m taken care of if anyone wants to buy out my spot for a Mvs cart feel free I’m number 66 on the spread sheet

This post is to confirm that @Koala_Koa has purchased my spot for the carts. @rewrite , man I hope you're ok dude. I saw someone posted somewhere that they called and left a wellness check voicemail, I think?

I hope you're ok. Just hit us back and let us know you're still around, man.

I can't believe no one has his number? I've sold my spot, but maybe someone who still has skin in this game should call the number that was posted on the rental unit ad to check on him?

This is a total bummer. Not so much about the cart, but rewrite. Really hoping he’s alright. It’s weird when people completely disappear off the internet after being active on it for so long. If he’s reading this somehow, this is just a forum and it can all be sorted dude. Just let someone know you’re good.

That said, I have a DS cart coming soon and am willing to sell my MVS spot for $60 (I believe I’m 49th, second chunk of rows on the sheet). I also did not elect for Xenocrisis to be included in mine.

If anyone purchases it, I will post it here so it’s public record.

Multiple people here have his number; several tried reaching out (including Anselmo I think?).

Rewrite hasn't responded.

FWIW, he also hasn't tweeted or posted to (what appears to be) his reddit account in quite some time.

Damn. Well, that's it I guess, nothing to do but wait? I hope he's OK.

I've had sporadic communication with him for a few weeks. His partner was supposed to do half the work but after a year gave everything back with nothing being done at all. So my feeling is rewrite is feeling very overwhelmed. I know it can be hard to get started when the mountain seems impossible to conquer.. I have offered my help. He says he will assess the direction over the long weekend and respond with s plan of action here on Monday or Tuesday.

Very good news, firstly that he is ok.

Secondly because there is now hope for it. A lot of us were just worried something happened to him.

Ditto to the above. I like games, but they're just games. @rewrite I'm glad you're okay!

He was smart to take only a down payment up front. If I lose $60, I'll live. Others may be less happy if they don't get it back, and presumably he's spent it all on parts already, but there should at least be some path forward if the partner didn't steal anything.

Alright, long time no update. Hadn't had much TO update unfortunately. I'd spent a bit of time in and out of the hospital, and I had *thought* that everything was going along smoothly, despite not being terribly timely. I kept getting reassured that things were moving along and kept getting new dates that we'd be ready to ship. I also (wrongly) assumed that my partner in this had updated folks in these threads.

Very recently I got a message from my partner in this that they were simply not going to be able to finish and that I'd have them returned to my doorstep in the next 24 hours as they were going out of town. I didn't know then, but quickly found out that across the entire eight(?) months that they've had the project in their hands that nothing at all got done. Even better: chips got thrown in bags and legs tangled and it's been a fight to straighten that all out.

On the bright side, I have all the PCBs back in hand, and I *believe* everything else as well (still need to count the daughterboards and cases in full). I have across the past few days soldered the S/M chips in place on 61/75 carts, and 75/75 carts' worth of P roms. I imagine these will be finished before tomorrow is out.

I still need to install the daughterboards (and install C3 on the dual boards) and test the carts. I'm sure there's some amount of touch-up that will come along with testing as well. With only one AES and one MVS motherboard it'll take a little bit here, especially with work in-between, but I'm basically at the point I'm ready to take payments. I'll reach out with totals across the next week here, order boxes and a couple rolls of bubblewrap, and we'll start getting these the heck out of here.

Domestic shipping for single cart buyers will be $18.50. I haven't found boxes for buyers of two carts yet so I don't have dims to check the cost, but I'd imagine something like 25-28. International buyers I'll figure out as I get to their spots in line.

Two side notes:

I heard rumblings of people selling their spot in line. I think that's unfair to the people who are on the waitlist, especially since there may be a supply issue for the flashroms for any more carts to be made. For anyone who passes on their cart: I will be moving down the waitlist to find a buyer. I do not intend to honor these side deals as they give an unfair advantage to folks who haven't been waiting as long. Please request a refund if this describes you.

I'd also like to say that posting my home address and one of my places of employment was a pretty cruddy thing to do. I don't know who did it, but I do know Mitsu took care of it. I don't know if they were banned, but I know the post got removed or edited. The same behavior has resulted in a ban for other members, so I hope it did here too. Every single person who sent a deposit has my email, and not one person reached out to it. Posting my personal information publicly instead of sending an email would require a gold medal performance in mental gymnastics to justify. I can't figure out another reason for that decision than being some attempt to cause intentional harm.

Anyway, things are moving right along over this long weekend, and I'll be glad to have these finished up, thrown in boxes, and dropped off with a courier in the coming weeks!

Hey man, I'm glad you are alive and have replied, but some side notes for you:

I did reach out via email and via the PayPal email I sent you, multiple times, there was no reply. While I didn't post any of your info publicly (I'm not sure who did), I DID ask for a refund via email and via PM here AND via KLOV. You never replied to anything.

That being said, I think it's crappy for you to push or bump the person I sold my spot to off the list. That is not cool. You've been gone for a long time with not updates. It's not crazy for some of us to move on. If you really don't want to honor the list as it was, I'd be happy to finish the deal, get the cart and forward it if I have to, but that's not a convenient or cool way to do it.

I DID ask for refund and got zero replies from you. Now you are saying my spot is off the list and the buyer of my spot is SOL? There has to be a better answer here.
