I've got a nice looking Korean Gunbird 1 board here. I'd like to convert it to the Japanese version, as I understand that's a bit better. Do we have any knowledgeable folks that could point me at the resources I'd need to identify what would need to change? In my lack of experience, I figured I would probably start with U46 and U39, as I understand those to be the program ROMs (as well as maybe U71). But the reality is that would largely be a situation of: "Burn off the JP region roms for those chips and see what happens."
If anyone happens to know of an extant guide covering this, I'd be glad to have it! But I'd be happy for any resources.
