Had my CPS1 w/multi running for a few hours on SF2, and the system died..... I rebooted it and the video signal keeps going in and out, but I do see this

SCR 1 RAM NG

I am guessing that "NG" means no good?

Booted up 3 wonders - this is what it showed:

SCR 1 RAM NG
A 009083CA W 0000 R FFFF

As it was literally just sitting (in a Jasen case) and working totally fine, and then this happened - anything I can do to troubleshoot? Or should I just change out the A board?

Matt

Can you run the romtester rom (should be 44 on the usa region pack) and share those results?

Sorry to hear your board is acting up. It definitely sounds like it could be a failed RAM chip from the diagnostic error, but try running the game out of the case first just to make sure the board isn't grounding out on anything. Try removing and reseating the A+B+C boards as well.

Here are diagrams of what chip does what on the A Board:

None of those are clearly labeled as SCR1, but I'm pretty confident your culprit will be one of the six SRAM chips in the lower-right corner of the main board.
