Any advice on running jamma games in NNC cabs with minimal lag? I have some jamma to JVS adapters but the high level players who visit my spot say the level of lag is unacceptably high.

Head to head or 2 player setups on a single cab?

Will these be 100% dedicated JAMMA cabinets?

You can get a full on JAMMA harness that will run up the leg of the cab that you can swap between stock JVS and JAMMA with some work, but you will still have to take off the plastic cover and tv backing to switch between vga and SCART options since it seems there is an issue where the video signals interfere if both are plugged in. You could forgo the stock IO and then use a namco JAMMA to JVS adapter to still play jvs titles as the adapters tend to work better going from JAMMA to JVS instead of the other way around.

Some claim the SEGA type 3 IO is a smidge faster than what comes in NNC's stock, and the Jammafier seems to be anecdotally one of the better adapters when still wired for JVS.

Each option has its trade offs depending on how much work you want to go into changing what kind of games you're playing. Lowest imput lag=JAMMA harness, easiest flexibility in swapping setups with still a nominal amount imput lag=Jammafier with type 3.

Best option/most expensive/most annoying to setup: River Service jamma harness, low impedance VGA adapter, line level adapter (sound) and TDIO if you want to run JVS.

Plug and play solution: Jammafier

This man speaks the truth. I have always gone this route for the Net/New Net when running JAMMA myself (which I did for many years playing TGM1/2 at a near world record level). Unless you are swapping between JAMMA and JVS constantly why even bring the JVS IO board into the lag equation - run JAMMA wiring to a second set of control panel connectors, use a low impedance VGA adapter, and get a line level adapter. The Jammafier is about as good as you can get for a plug and play solution but it's also limited by whatever IO board you use and again...I just don't think there is a reason to do anything but a setup that will be fundamentally identical to running on a normal JAMMA cab (because in the end, that's what doing all that wiring turns it into). I'll send some more details on the setup I've used in the past as well as right now in my home NNC in a bit.
