Had to peel apart this JNX consolized MVS unit to replace the battery, update the UniBIOS and retro-bright the case. More hot glue involved than I was anticipating, going to be tricky to re-glue the component encoder etc down. Anyone have experience with reassembly that could give me some pointers?

Retrobrighting went well, still a bit yellow on the inside but no one can see it there (thinking the glue off gassed a bit). Still not sure how to tackle reassembly. Almost thinking the component encoder should be flipped over and attached to the MV1C rather than the case. But I'll probably just try to do it in the original order. Will have to fully dissemble it since everything is in the way of everything else.

Retrobrighting one of these project cases is a new one for me. These things aren't more than like 10 or 15 years old, right? How bad could it have been?

It was fairly yellowed, but not uniformly.

Probably wouldn't have bothered but I had to take it all apart for a UniBIOS update and battery swap.
