What's new

FS JST brand JAMMA connectors/pins - Parts/Datasheet

For Sale
Here is TE Connectivity's version (I think):
  • Edge Connector Part No. 583859-1
  • Crimp Pins Part No. 5-583616-2
The card thickness range on this seems to be pretty good at 0.055" ~ 0.070" (1.40mm ~ 1.78mm). Friendly to JAMMA boards I would think? This is in comparison to Sullens and EDAC's edge connectors (non-crimp pins) which is at 0.062" (1.57mm). Both are known to be quite snug. I don't know what JST's, Hirose's, or Molex's card thickness tolerance is.

Lots of stock is shown on all over the place. Is this info known? I just stumbled upon it as I was browsing around.
Thanks for the part numbers. I’ve ordered some from Mouser - coming from Hong Kong. Pricey pins but I will stash a couple and have a crack at doing one new Jamma connector for my Exceleena. I hope the crimping tools I have will suffice.

Make a post with pics in the Projects Showcase sub when you get the parts.

If anyone’s here in 2025, the pins referenced above are 28-24 AWG - too small to easily work with most existing JAMMA wire gauges. I got away with crimping 22 AWG wires but anything bigger was tricky.

@Ziggy Cheetos Dust I found a few of the larger gauge OEM JST crimped leads, see thread :

Keen to hear what the grip’s like once you have it populated… good stuff.

Thanks @SnakeGrunger. I’d be interested to know the part number of those pins because they look different to the ones I got. I’m posting across a couple of threads on this but i think one is a TE and one is a JST 😬

Would've loved to get one of these a few years back before I chopped it off my Madonna and soldered a Hirose on it instead. Ah, well. I was more interested in having something functional and fully wired so everything "just worked" versus keeping everything 100% original, and nobody seemed to have a source for the pins, let alone the connector itself.

Does anyone know if the Exceleena II use this connector as well?
