Hello, I'm currently trying to hook up a K7000 and this plug here was disconnected from the monitor. Not sure what this plug actually does and I assume that these two pins are where it plugs into however the molex doesn't fit. If I can use a new molex and plug them in is there a specific orientation that it goes? Thanks.

It's for the degauss coil around the tube. Pretty sure you have the right spot on the pcb and I believe they do not rely on polarity. Kind of hard to tell from your picture since I can't see the rest of the board.

Sounds good! Here's a better image of the board and as long as its not reliant on polarity that's good!

I wanted to double check since I'm away from my cabs but I have 2 k7000 monitors and thats definitely for the degauss coil amd polarity does not matter. You should be good bud!

Thanks a ton man! I really appreciate it and I hope you have a happy new year!

That's the degauss coil. Not necessary to connect it for the monitor to work. You can manually degauss any discoloration with a degauss wand. Since it's a K7000, those are typically great candidates for tube swaps since the tubes are easier to find. My guess is that someone tube swapped it, didn't have the correct molex connector for the degauss wires, so just left disconnected since it's not required to function.

Pretty easy to fix. Just cut the molex connector off and strip and re-crimp the proper stuff on.

Here's the molex connector needed: https://www.arcadepartsandrepair.co...-connectors/2-pin-plug-housing-2-36mm-cm1001/

Here's the pins for the connector: (female 0.93 pins): https://www.arcadepartsandrepair.co...-connectors/2-pin-plug-housing-2-36mm-cm1001/

Good Luck!
